This is my personal blog which I began in February 2001. I called it The Obvious? when I wrote anonymously and chose the name to reflect the fact I have to overcome my inhibitions about stating the obvious!

Don't just do something stand there

The following tweet from Tim O'Reilly just got me thinking about why I don't feel drawn to many of the "change the world" conferences that seem to take place all the time.

"George Church: In a changing world, inaction can be the radical "action"

It relates to my old favourite "to rescue someone is to oppress them". I am less interested in coercing people into moving towards a new way of doing things so much as stripping some of the crap away to let what has always been there thrive and survive.

I quite agree Euan. This is where I am starting to resonate. Stillness and clarity really helps you see what is really needed.

I so agree. Many conversations about action feel desperately disconnected from reality. My mantra this year has been "notice more, change less".
